About This Role

You'll join Novaflow, the AI data analyst for biology labs, as a founding backend engineer building APIs, cloud infrastructure, and data pipelines. You'll make architecture decisions that determine how the platform scales, helping researchers go from raw data to insights in days. You'll work side by side with Y Combinator-backed founders and shape the engineering team.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain APIs and backend services in Python or Go.
• Manage cloud infrastructure with Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Design data models and optimize SQL/NoSQL queries.
• Build data pipelines for large-scale genomics datasets.

Requirements

• 2+ years building and running backend services in production.
• Deep SQL knowledge and data modeling experience.
• Proficient in Python and Node.js for APIs and services.
• Experience with microservices and API design.

Nice to Have

• Experience with computational biology or scientific computing
• Go experience
• Event-driven architectures or message queues
