Data Engineer Complir — Vanta for physical products ## About us Complir is the AI platform for the product compliance lifecycle, built for retailers, brands, and manufacturers selling physical consumer products across multiple markets. We believe getting a physical product to market shouldn't mean fighting spreadsheets, PDFs, and supplier emails just to prove it's safe and legal to sell. Product compliance should be continuous, automatic, and understandable, not a bottleneck that slows launches down. We're building the AI infrastructure that makes that possible. We work with many of the world's largest retailers and brands across fashion, furniture, cosmetics, toys, electronics and many other product categories. We're backed by Y Combinator, and a roster of investors who see what we see: Product compliance is the next major infrastructure category, and we're leading it. ## About the role Every product you've ever bought, from a kid's toy dinosaur to your electric toothbrush, had to clear a wall of regulation before it reached you. That wall is written down somewhere: scattered across hundreds of government portals, PDFs, and legal databases, in dozens of languages, updated on no schedule anyone agreed to. Your job is to turn that chaos into structured, queryable data our product can act on. You'll be the person who makes the world's product regulations machine-readable. ## The data layer everything stands on This is not a role where you write Python scripts in isolation. You'll understand, crawl, and monitor regulatory sources across hundreds of jurisdictions, parse raw legal text into a normalized requirement schema, and catch changes the day they land, so every label, Declaration of Conformity, and risk assessment we generate is provably current. The interesting problems are everywhere: government portals that were last redesigned when fax machines were current, legal text that means different things in different translations, amendments that quietly rewrite three other acts, and the question of how you prove to an enterprise customer that your data was correct on the day they shipped. LLMs make structured extraction over legal text possible for the first time; making it reliable enough to stake a product launch on is the engineering problem you'll own. You'll do this sitting next to the founders, our AI engineers, and our in-house compliance experts at our Copenhagen HQ. No layers, no ticket queues. When a source breaks or a regulation changes, the fix ships in hours, not sprints. ## What you'll actually do - Build and operate the crawling and monitoring layer across hundreds of regulatory sources: government portals, legislative databases, and official gazettes in dozens of languages - Parse raw legal text (HTML, PDFs, scans) into a normalized requirement schema, using LLM-assisted extraction pipelines you design, evaluate, and harden - Build change detection that catches new acts, amendments, and repeals the day they land, and triggers the downstream updates our customers depend on - Own data quality end to end: provenance, versioning, and coverage metrics, so every requirement in the platform traces back to its primary source - Work with our regulatory experts to evolve the schema and taxonomy as coverage grows from the EU to new jurisdictions - Shape the architecture, tooling, and data culture as the team grows ## You will love this job, if you are: - An engineer with several years building data pipelines, crawling infrastructure, or large-scale extraction systems - Experienced with (or seriously hungry to go deep on) LLM-assisted extraction: structured outputs, evals, and the failure modes of models reading dense text - Someone who treats data correctness as sacred: provenance, versioning, and "how do we know this is still true?" are your favorite questions - Unafraid of messy sources: broken HTML, scanned PDFs, and legal prose in languages you don't speak are puzzles, not blockers - Product-minded: You understand that a quality manager will stake a product launch on your pipeline's output - Bonus points if you have worked with regulatory data before - Comfortable with ambiguity and speed: Small team, fast decisions, no spec handed down from above - Excited to work on-site in Copenhagen with the whole team - A builder at heart ## What you get - Ownership of the regulatory data layer, the foundation the entire product stands on - Zero layers: You sit next to the founders, the AI team, and the compliance experts whose domain you're turning into data - Ground floor of a category-defining company, backed by Y Combinator and investors betting on product compliance becoming the next big thing - Competitive salary and equity - An office where the pastries are mandatory If you've read this far and thought "that's the data problem I want to own," we'd like to meet you. Location: Copenhagen, Denmark Type: Full-time Experience: Any (new grads ok) Visa: US citizen/visa only

Head of UK
✨ $130k-$170k / yearest.
Head of UK Complir — Vanta for physical products ## About us Complir is the AI platform for the product compliance lifecycle, built for retailers, brands, and manufacturers selling physical consumer products across multiple markets. We believe getting a physical product to market shouldn't mean fighting spreadsheets, PDFs, and supplier emails just to prove it's safe and legal to sell. Product compliance should be continuous, automatic, and understandable - not a bottleneck that slows launches down. We're building the AI infrastructure that makes that possible. We work with many of the worlds largest retailers and brands across fashion, furniture, cosmetics, toys, electronics and many other product categories. We're backed by Y Combinator, and a roster of investors who see what we see: Product compliance is the next major infrastructure category, and we're leading it. ## About the role We're looking for an entrepreneurial salesperson who wants huge responsibility: Bringing Complir to the UK, closing enterprise deals, and shaping our presence in one of Europe's largest markets. Product compliance is not a topic that makes people lean in at dinner parties. But every product you've ever bought, from your kid's toy dinosaur to your electric toothbrush, had to clear a wall of regulation before it reached you. Most companies manage that wall with spreadsheets, inbox archaeology, and one very tired quality manager. Nowhere is that wall more confusing than in the UK: one of Europe's largest consumer markets, now writing its own product rulebook after Brexit. UKCA next to CE, GB rules diverging from EU rules, and EU regulation still applying in Northern Ireland. Every brand selling on both sides of the Channel is running two compliance tracks with tools built for zero. We're fixing this with AI, and we want you to be the person who brings it there. You'll be Complir's first person on the ground in the UK, focused on enterprise: Retailers, manufacturers and brands with 1,000+ active products, complex multi-market exposure, and compliance teams drowning in spreadsheets. You'll build your own pipeline and close your own enterprise deals. That means picking up the phone, working your network, and creating opportunities where none existed, with founders and our GTM team behind every deal. We're looking for a self-starting enterprise seller with an entrepreneurial streak - several years of enterprise B2B sales experience, ideally with some background selling into or working in legal, compliance, or regulatory functions. Then comes the second act. As the first customers land, you build the UK pod around you: account executives, customer success, eventually a UK office with your fingerprints on everything. The UK is the mandate today, and the person who builds it is its natural owner. ## Where you'll be based You'll start with 2 weeks at our Copenhagen HQ. This is where you absorb the product, the pitch, and the compliance domain, sitting next to the founders and the GTM team, and where you start building your UK pipeline from day one. From there, you're based in the UK, running your own market. You'll be back in Copenhagen for 2 weeks every quarter, working closely with our Head of France, Head of Germany, and the rest of the team to compare notes across markets, sharpen the playbook, and bring what's working in each country back to your own. ## What you'll do - Own the UK market: pipeline, revenue, and everything in between. You build the top of your own funnel using a proven enterprise playbook, adapted to the UK market: cold outreach, LinkedIn, events, and channels you develop yourself as you learn what works locally. - Run enterprise sales cycles end to end: discovery, demo, pilot, procurement, security review, close - Sell to compliance managers, regulatory affairs leads, and C-suite at product companies across categories like cosmetics, toys, and electronics - Become an expert in the product compliance space and act as a thought leader within the UK product compliance communities - Bring market insight back into the product and the pitch: what UK enterprises need will shape what we build ## You will love this job, if you are: - An experienced enterprise seller with several years closing complex, multi-stakeholder B2B SaaS deals, ideally in the £100k+ ACV range - A fluent English speaker with deep familiarity with the UK market - Experienced with (or curious about) selling into compliance, regulatory, quality, or retail. - Comfortable being the only Complirian in your market, without being a lone wolf: you'll pull on the founders and product daily - Not afraid of picking up the phone. There is no SDR to start off with - the sellers who win are the ones who never stopped picking up the phone - A builder at heart ## What you get - Full ownership of the UK, one of Complir's main markets, with a real say in how it's built - The path from first seller to market leader: as the UK grows, you hire and lead the team - Be part of a category-defining company, backed by Y Combinator and investors betting on product compliance being the next big thing - Competitive salary and equity Location: London, United Kingdom Type: Full-time Experience: 5+ years Visa: US citizen/visa only

Fullstack Engineer
Copenhagen, Capital Region of Denmark, Denmark
✨ $85k-$120k / yearest.
Fullstack Engineer Complir — Vanta for physical products **About us** Complir is the AI platform for the product compliance lifecycle, built for retailers, brands, and manufacturers selling physical consumer products across multiple markets. **About the role** We're looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer who wants huge responsibility: Owning the product surface where compliance work actually gets done, for some of Europe's biggest retailers and brands. The software that you will help us build will make it much easier to sell safe products. Dense regulatory data, AI-generated risk assessments, and document workflows all have to land in an interface a non-technical expert can move through quickly and confidently. You'll design the data models and APIs that make it possible, then build the surface itself: presenting model output with the right confidence and citation so a compliance manager can act on it, making a corpus of 100+ regulatory frameworks feel navigable, and keeping a screen full of async AI work feeling instant and actionable. By making this data easier to act on we will in turn make the products sold on all the world's markets much safer for consumers. Our stack is Next.js and TypeScript for the app, React + Vite for our Adobe plugins, NestJS and Inngest on the backend, PostgreSQL, hosted on Vercel and Azure. If you haven't touched all of it, that's fine. What matters is that you want to build things that people can rely on and enjoy using. **Where you'll be based** You'll be in-office at our central Copenhagen HQ, working alongside the whole team. We're a small team that moves fast, laughs a lot, and celebrates wins loudly - and the distance between "a user hit a problem" and "the fix is in production" is measured in hours, not sprints. **What you'll do** - Build new user-facing features end to end: data model, API, and the UI components users actually touch - Own the frontend craft: component architecture, state, performance, and the details that make an interface feel finished rather than merely functional - Ship features that are deeply integrated with LLMs - Turn a compliance expert's judgment into systems: Encode how classification, risk, and requirements actually work into pipelines that scale, then make the output legible to a non-expert - Work directly with customers and founders to decide what to build next, then build it - Shape the architecture, tooling, and engineering culture as the team grows **You will love this job, if you are:** - A senior engineer with several years shipping production fullstack applications, fluent in TypeScript and at home in React and Next.js - Someone with real frontend judgment: You have opinions about component APIs, interaction detail, and how a UI looks and feels - Product-minded: You care what the user is trying to do, not just what the ticket says, and you push back when the product shape doesn't feel right - Experienced with (or seriously hungry to go deep on) LLM-powered systems: RAG, embeddings, orchestrating multiple models in one workflow - Someone who treats model output as an engineering problem: Evals, grounding, and failure modes, not vibes - Comfortable with ambiguity and speed: Small team, fast decisions, no spec handed down from above - Excited to work on-site in Copenhagen with the whole team - A builder at heart If you'd rather own the inference pipeline than the interface, take a look at our Backend Engineer and Data Engineer roles instead. Same team, same problems, different end of the stack. **What you get** - Ownership of the interface Europe's biggest retailers and brands do their compliance work in, on top of AI with actual stakes: our system answers "can I legally sell this product?" - Real ownership of the code, the architecture, and a real say in what gets built - Zero layers: You sit next to the founders, the AI team, and the compliance experts whose knowledge you're turning into software - Ground floor of a category-defining company, backed by Y Combinator and investors betting on product compliance becoming the next big thing - Competitive salary and equity - An office where the pastries are mandatory If you've read this far and thought "I want to own that interface," we'd like to meet you. Backend Engineer
Copenhagen, Capital Region of Denmark, Denmark
✨ $90k-$120k / yearest.
Backend Engineer Complir — Vanta for physical products ## About us Complir is the AI platform for the product compliance lifecycle, built for retailers, brands, and manufacturers selling physical consumer products across multiple markets. ## About the role Every product on every shelf in Europe has a paper trail: test reports, declarations, supplier certificates, safety documentation. That trail lives in ERP systems, PIM systems, PLM systems, supplier portals, and (more often than anyone admits) someone's inbox. Our customers ship thousands of new products a month, and their product data is scattered across all of it. Your job: Build the pipes that pull it all together. If you find deep satisfaction in making messy enterprise systems talk to each other cleanly, this is the most interesting integration problem you'll find in Copenhagen. Data gathering is the front door of our entire platform: Nothing downstream works without clean product data flowing in. You'll own the integration layer that connects Complir to our customers' ERP, PIM, and PLM systems, the difference between a customer onboarding in days versus months. This is a role with real architectural ownership. You'll design how our integration layer scales from a handful of bespoke connections to a product surface that can plug into any system a new customer brings. The role will grow beyond integrations into broader backend ownership as the platform expands. ## Where you'll be based You'll be at our central Copenhagen HQ, working alongside our AI engineers, our in-house product compliance experts, and the founders. We're a small team that moves fast, laughs a lot, and celebrates wins loudly - and the distance between "customer has a problem" and "fix is in production" is measured in hours, not sprints. ## What you'll do - Design and build integrations with customer ERP, PIM, and PLM systems (think SAP, Dynamics, inRiver, Akeneo, Centric, and the long tail of systems you've never heard of yet) - Own the data ingestion pipeline: product data and documents in, normalized and reliable, at portfolio scale - Turn one-off integration work into reusable patterns: connector frameworks, mapping tools, monitoring - Work directly with customers' technical teams during onboarding, then make the next onboarding easier than the last - Collaborate with our AI engineers so ingested data feeds classification, risk assessment, and document generation cleanly - Help shape backend architecture, tooling, and engineering culture as the team grows ## You will love this job, if you are: - A backend engineer (5+ years or the scars to match) who has built integrations with enterprise systems before and didn't hate it - Fluent in API design, data modeling, and the unglamorous reality of other people's data (inconsistent, incomplete, occasionally in a 2007 Excel format) - Pragmatic: you'd rather ship a reliable connector this week than a perfect abstraction next quarter, but you know when the abstraction pays off - Comfortable talking to customers' IT teams without a translator - Bonus points: experience with PIM/PLM ecosystems, retail/e-commerce data, or compliance-adjacent domains ## What you get - A core architectural problem that's genuinely yours, at a Y Combinator-backed company in a market being reshaped by new EU regulation - Small, sharp team: AI engineers, product compliance experts, and founders who ship - Direct influence on product and engineering culture - A central Copenhagen office, great coffee, and mandatory pastries - Competitive salary and equity Location: Copenhagen, Denmark Type: Full-time Experience: Any (new grads ok) Visa: US citizen/visa only
