You will assist in designing and building systems to proactively identify and enforce on abuse on AI products, including monitoring new and existing products and prototyping defense systems against high-risk harms. You will detect and respond to malicious use and abuse on the platform, investigate activity using SQL and Python, and draft reports with recommendations. This role involves handling sensitive content and requires on-call availability for urgent escalations.

You'll design and maintain cloud infrastructure to support real-time ML model serving, data ingestion, and evaluation workflows. You'll deploy and optimize APIs for low-latency access to ML models and embedding search systems, working closely with ML engineers and researchers to build infrastructure that makes high-performance models accessible and reliable in production.

You will conduct open-source and targeted research in various sources, analyze and report findings, and collaborate with teammates to design research methods. You'll work on sensitive topics with professionalism while exploring emerging questions as priorities shift.

You will support the remote-first, Sydney-based APAC Investigations Team by detecting and responding to malicious use and abuse on the platform, investigating activity, drafting reports, and making recommendations. This involves using SQL and Python to query data and cross-reference open source information, while handling sensitive and distressing content. You'll serve in an on-call capacity to resolve urgent escalations outside normal hours.

You will build and deploy multi-stage classification systems optimized for high throughput and low latency, ensuring high recall and precision. You'll design and implement real-world ML systems with a focus on robustness, observability, and scalability, while collaborating with researchers and engineers to integrate ML components into production systems.

You will architect and scale the talent engine, focusing on recruiting exceptional technical and mission-driven talent in competitive markets. You'll build talent pipelines across engineering, red teaming, research, product, operations, and specialized technical roles, and design systems to enable success once hired. You'll work directly with leadership to shape hiring strategy and ensure consistent hiring of exceptional talent.

You will design and implement highly reliable, distributed backend services and APIs that are secure, scalable, and maintainable. You'll work closely with researchers, security engineers, and product teammates to bring AI-driven features from concept to production. You'll also monitor and improve performance, reliability, and resource efficiency to support growth.

You will conduct open-source research on political risks related to data centers, analyze findings, and collaborate with teammates to support the Data Center Watch project. This role involves drafting reports and adapting to evolving priorities to help understand regulatory landscapes for AI safety.

You will design, implement, and optimize end-to-end data pipelines for scraping and processing structured and unstructured data using Google Cloud Platform. You'll conduct ad hoc web scraping and data collection to support research and intelligence initiatives, and prepare data for further analysis including cleaning, transformation, anonymization, and masking. You'll collaborate with ML engineers, other data engineers, and software developers to deliver actionable insights and functional tools.
