💼 About This Role

You'll own the orchestration layer that powers automation at scale within HighLevel, rebuilding the engine that drives 80M+ workflow enrolments per day. You'll operate as a hands-on individual contributor, designing and writing core engine logic in Go and Node.js. This is a Staff Architect track role with deep technical ownership, not management.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Rebuild the Workflow Engine from Node.js to Go for high-performance execution
• Design orchestration, state, retries, and execution guarantees with clear contracts
• Define APIs and schemas between Engine, Triggers, and Actions
• Partner with SRE to instrument metrics and build replay and diagnostics tooling

📋 Requirements

• 10+ years of backend engineering experience in distributed systems
• Advanced proficiency in Go and Node.js writing low-latency microservices
• Production-grade database experience (MongoDB, Firestore, or equivalent)
• Strong fundamentals in concurrency, idempotency, and fault tolerance

• Observability experience with Grafana, Prometheus, or OpenTelemetry
• Open-source contributions or technical writing in distributed systems
