You'll join a small, high-leverage team building the data infrastructure behind OpenAI's B2B flywheel, working at the intersection of data science, research, and engineering. Your core impact will be designing and operating real-time backend systems that capture critical product and usage signals across high-scale API surfaces. This role offers broad ownership across backend engineering, data pipelines, and applied ML-adjacent problems in a fast-moving environment.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Design and build backend systems capturing product and usage signals across B2B and API surfaces
• Build reliable data pipelines translating raw signals into actionable insights and model improvements
• Operate high-traffic, low-latency services with strict privacy and data-handling requirements
• Collaborate with data science, research, product, and infrastructure to improve product quality

📋 Requirements

• 7+ years of professional backend engineering experience in high-scale environments
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, API services, data modeling, and production operations
• Experience building or maintaining data pipelines, event systems, or large-scale data processing
• Comfort working near data science, ML, or research engineering workflows
