💼 About This Role

You'll own query execution performance for an AI-powered observability platform at Snowflake, working on caching, rewrites, and optimizations. Your work directly impacts customer speed and cost at scale. This role combines deep performance analysis with high ownership across millions of queries.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Own and evolve the query execution service, including caching and incremental execution.
• Analyze large volumes of queries to identify performance bottlenecks.
• Investigate and resolve customer-reported query latency issues.
• Partner with Snowflake engineering to advocate for platform improvements.

📋 Requirements

• 5+ years building distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with query execution machinery (planning, caching, rewrite rules).
• Proven ability to diagnose database performance issues at scale.
• Strong understanding of algorithms, distributed systems, and backend infrastructure.

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with Snowflake or other cloud data warehouses.
• Prior work on observability, monitoring, or telemetry platforms.
• Experience with OLAP query optimization, columnar storage, or vectorized execution.
