Description

As an Applied Scientist on Lyft's Pricing team, you will develop ML and optimization models to power real-time pricing and ETA decisions, balancing supply and demand on a two-sided marketplace. You'll partner with cross-functional teams to solve critical problems that impact rider experience and market outcomes.

Requirements

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Machine Learning, Operations Research, Statistics, CS or related quantitative field
• 2+ years of algorithms experience in a technology company setting
• Proficiency with Python and working in a production coding environment
• Strong understanding of machine learning methodologies with experience building and evaluating models
• Strong communication skills and track record of collaboration

Responsibilities

• Partner with Data Scientists, Engineers, PMs to frame problems mathematically and business context
• Write production-quality code; design, build, deploy production-grade ML and Optimization models
• Build custom methods and tooling beyond off-the-shelf libraries
• Perform data analysis and build proof-of-concepts for ML and optimization solutions
• Establish metrics and measurement methodologies to monitor product health and marketplace outcomes
