Description

You will own the design and development of complex mechanisms and mechanical systems for cutting-edge satellites, from conceptual design through production and on-orbit operations. Collaborate on system-level optimization, drive design for manufacturability, and manage product delivery timelines while working with a passionate team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or STEM discipline
• Experience with CAD or FEA software (professional, academic, or hobby setting)
• 1+ years of mechanical/electromechanical design and analysis experience (internship applicable)
• Ability to work long hours and weekends as necessary to meet deadlines
• Ability to travel to SpaceX, vendors, customers, and partner locations

Responsibilities

• Own hardware and mechanisms from conceptual design through production and on-orbit operations
• Develop design criteria, collaborate on requirements, drive system-level optimization
• Rapidly iterate on designs and analysis to inform system trades and product direction
• Drive holistic DFM focusing on part count reduction, error-proofing, and consistent performance
• Perform environmental and performance testing to validate analysis and demonstrate compliance
