Description

In this hands-on leadership role, you will lead day-to-day sample management operations and directly supervise a team, ensuring high-quality execution in a fast-paced oncology drug discovery environment. You will actively direct work, troubleshoot issues in real time, and drive process improvements while collaborating cross-functionally.

Requirements

• BS/MS in chemistry, biology, engineering, or related scientific discipline
• 5+ years experience in sample management, compound management, or lab operations
• Proven experience supervising technical staff in a lab environment
• Hands-on experience with automated sample storage systems, LIMS, and lab automation tools
• Strong attention to detail, operational discipline, and commitment to data integrity

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on leadership to sample management staff, including work assignment, prioritization, and real-time problem solving
• Manage sample receipt, storage, tracking, retrieval, and disposal
• Ensure smooth operation of automated storage systems, LIMS, and lab infrastructure
• Train, mentor, and develop staff through coaching, feedback, and performance management
• Implement and maintain SOPs and identify process improvements
