You'll define the AI research agenda for a clinically safe and reliable AI company. Your research will directly shape product architectures and influence high-stakes clinical deployment. This role offers the chance to grow into Chief AI Officer as Tortus scales.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Define and lead the AI research agenda on clinical trust and safety
• Partner with product on architectural decisions with a research perspective
• Propose enhancements and guide product engineers in implementing them
• Publish original research and represent Tortus at conferences

📋 Requirements

• Strong research track record with publications in relevant areas
• Experience at the research/product interface influencing engineering teams
• Ability to reason about non-deterministic systems and model failure

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with regulated AI or medical device software
• Familiarity with UK/EU AI regulatory landscape (MDR, UKCA, MHRA)
• Clinical domain knowledge
