💼 About This Role

You'll lead business development for a defense manufacturing and prototyping business, identifying opportunities across DoD customers. You'll own the pipeline from identification through contract award, converting opportunities into funded work. This role is 60% hunter and 40% technical.

🎯 What You'll Do

  • Identify and pursue manufacturing opportunities across DoD customers.
  • Conduct customer discovery visits to identify problems solvable with hardware.
  • Respond to RFQs, Sources Sought, and RFIs for manufacturing work.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with defense prime contractors.

📋 Requirements

  • 5+ years selling machining or fabrication into DoD.
  • Read engineering drawings and GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
  • Working knowledge of CNC machining processes.
  • Active Secret clearance (minimum).

✨ Nice to Have

  • Navy or SOCOM veteran with acquisition background.
  • Existing relationships with Hampton Roads defense primes.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality environments.
