💼 About This Role

You'll lead the aerodynamic development of Varda's next reentry vehicle, from rarefied entry to subsonic terminal approach. You will be responsible for 6-DOF reentry vehicle dynamics, hypersonic CFD simulations, and wind tunnel campaigns. This role offers the chance to work on cutting-edge space infrastructure at a well-funded startup.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Lead aerodynamic development of next reentry vehicle from entry to touchdown.
• Conduct 6-DOF trajectory simulations and hypersonic CFD.
• Manage wind tunnel campaigns and aerodynamic database creation.
• Coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams for vehicle integration.

📋 Requirements

• BS in engineering or physics
• 5+ years relevant industry experience
• Significant contribution to aerodynamic development of a hypersonic vehicle
• Experience with CFD and DSMC simulations (Fun3D, Laura, DPLR, US3D, etc.)

✨ Nice to Have

• MS/PhD in Aerospace or Mechanical engineering specializing in aerodynamics
• Familiarity with POST2 or similar trajectory tools
• Experience with ablation or TPS sizing
