• Set research direction for context representation, memory, reasoning, and planning
• Decide on model architectures vs. adapting frontier models
• Define evaluation frameworks for real-world usefulness and safety
• Own alignment, safety, and guardrail strategy

• Deep experience building production ML systems
• Strong technical judgment around model behavior and failure modes
• Builder's mindset with real-world system focus
