Description

You will design and implement automated, scalable processes to calibrate and validate geometric models for Planet's satellite constellation, ensuring spatial data integrity. You'll develop photogrammetric models and troubleshoot complex image quality issues, shaping the future of our high-resolution monitoring programs.

Requirements

• 10+ years industry experience in statistical processing of large measurement datasets
• Bachelor's degree in Photogrammetry, Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics
• Extensive experience with Python in a Unix/Linux environment for scientific computing
• Knowledge of scaling code with cloud computing (AWS or GCP)
• Experience exploiting large cloud-based datasets for problem-solving

Responsibilities

• Perform geometric calibration and performance characterization of space imaging operations
• Design and implement automated scalable processes to calibrate satellites and meet specifications
• Develop performance models, error budgets, and calibration concepts for new constellations
• Troubleshoot geometric image quality issues and develop long-term mitigations
