Description

As a Senior Applied AI Engineer in the Energy sector at Celonis, you'll work with strategic clients in utilities, oil and gas, and renewables to solve critical business problems using Celonis' Process Intelligence platform combined with AI and ML technologies from partners like Microsoft and OpenAI. You'll lead solutioning, prototyping, and implementation of AI use cases such as predictive maintenance and outage management, driving value realization and expanding Celonis' footprint in the energy industry.

Requirements

• 5+ years leading technical pre-sales and post-sales engagements in the Energy sector (Utilities, Oil & Gas, Renewables)
• Deep understanding of energy sector business processes (Asset Management, Field Services, Supply Chain, Capital Projects, Trading)
• Expertise in generative AI techniques such as RAG, few-shot learning, prompt engineering, multi-agent orchestration, or fine-tuning
• Ability to translate high-level business needs into specific, impactful AI use cases
• Experience building compelling ROI/TCO business cases and guiding implementations to value realization

Responsibilities

• Understand energy customers' AI strategy and sector-specific challenges to find optimal problem-solution fit
• Lead technical discovery and demonstrations during pre-sales, and guide implementation post-sale to achieve value thresholds
• Rapidly build creative prototypes in customer hackathons using cutting-edge AI to solve critical operational pain points
• Support customers in achieving ROI from AI deployments by enabling shift to autonomous AI agents
• Execute end-to-end Proof-of-Value projects including architecting scalable LLM/agent systems with RAG and guardrails
