Description

You will lead Asana's global commercial legal team, develop strategy, manage complex transactions, and deploy AI to enhance legal workflows. This role reports to the General Counsel and requires a proven leader who can scale operations and support cross-functional partners.

Requirements

• JD from accredited law school; active bar membership (CA preferred)
• 15+ years legal experience with significant in-house portion
• 8+ years managing and mentoring commercial legal teams
• Experience with global sales organization (especially APAC and EMEA)
• Experience scaling teams at companies with $1B+ revenue

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, coach, and mentor a global team of commercial attorneys and legal professionals
• Serve as escalation point for high-stakes deals and scale commercial legal support
• Define and manage commercial legal budget, coordinate outside counsel, set goals and success metrics
• Serve on legal leadership team for planning and strategic priorities
• Provide strategic legal and business advice to senior leadership across Sales, Procurement, Channel, Finance
