💼 About This Role

You'll join the Platform team to own data tier reliability (MySQL, MongoDB, ScyllaDB, Elasticsearch, Redis) and contribute to monitoring, on-call, and cloud modernization. You'll blur the line between database and platform problems, ensuring Zello's 175M+ users stay connected.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Design and operate highly available MySQL and MongoDB clusters.
• Tune query performance and schema in partnership with engineers.
• Extend observability with Prometheus, Loki, and Tempo.
• Participate in platform on-call rotation and lead incident response.

📋 Requirements

• 7+ years in SRE, DevOps, or related field.
• Operated MySQL and MongoDB in production at scale.
• Diagnosed database performance end-to-end (query plans, indexes, locking).
• Shipped work on Linux, Kubernetes, or major cloud (GCP preferred).

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with ScyllaDB/Cassandra or Elasticsearch.
• Built automation tooling with Python or Go.
• Led blameless postmortems.
