Description
You will design and deliver high-quality modules in international business and trade, facilitate in-person and virtual sessions, coach and mentor students on trade, finance, and policy, and support mission-driven projects. The role involves collaboration with curriculum designers, maintaining course documentation, and contributing to programme development aligned with global standards and regional trade frameworks.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in relevant fields (with Rwandan Equivalence if from non-Rwandan institution)
- At least two years of work experience closely related to Marketing, International Relations, Global Business, Finance, Economics Trade Policy, Technology, Data Innovation
- Excellent coaching skills
- Experience in education - crafting learning outcomes and assessments
- Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal and presentation skills
- Mastery of English as primary learning language
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to quickly analyze data and determine appropriate academic support
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and work independently
- Startup mindset to help scale programme to thousands of students in next 12 months
- Desirable: PhD degree in any of the highlighted areas
- Desirable: Strong regional and international network with NGOs, Startup Incubators, etc.
- Desirable: Experience in online teaching and learning delivery
Responsibilities
- Plan, design, re-design, deliver and assess high-quality teaching modules and programmes
- Facilitate course sessions with students both in-person and virtually across trimesters
- Deliver course content through interactive class sessions, one-on-one coaching, written feedback, and analytical reporting
- Review student assignments and provide timely, constructive feedback
- Hold weekly office hours for targeted academic support and coaching
- Coach and mentor students throughout their academic and leadership journeys, with emphasis on trade, finance, and policy
- Support students in mission-driven projects related to international trade and business
- Contribute to development, implementation, and review of IBT course materials
- Collaborate with curriculum designers and subject matter experts to update content
- Contribute to orientation and induction processes for new student intakes
- Maintain accurate definitive documentation for IBT courses
- Supervise undergraduate students, providing advice on study skills, projects, fieldwork, and placements
- Undertake academic advising duties
- Complete administrative duties related to teaching delivery
- Engage with internal quality assurance mechanisms
- Identify students at academic risk and initiate intervention strategies
- Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders for student learning and internships
- Identify relevant trade datasets and analytical tools for experiential learning
- Stay connected to trade ecosystems to ensure programme remains industry-aligned
- Participate as member of assessment board
- Carry out other duties as reasonably assigned
- Ensure safety and well-being of young persons and vulnerable adults as per safeguarding policy
