Description

You will lead hydraulic and stormwater management design for transportation and infrastructure projects, providing technical guidance on drainage systems and erosion control while ensuring compliance with NCDOT and FHWA standards. You'll collaborate across disciplines and manage project deliverables.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of experience in hydraulic design for transportation projects
• B.S. in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required; ability to obtain North Carolina PE
• Proficiency in MicroStation, GEOPAK Drainage, ORD, and HEC-RAS
• Experience developing deliverables per NCDOT standards
• Knowledge of erosion and sediment pollution control
• Strong understanding of FHWA Hydraulic Design Manual
• Excellent communication and leadership skills

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor junior staff members
• Oversee hydrology and hydraulic analysis for transportation projects
• Review and approve stormwater management system and pond designs
• Manage hydraulic culvert/bridge design and permitting processes
• Provide strategic direction on erosion and sediment pollution control designs
• Ensure quality control and compliance with NCDOT and FHWA standards
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate hydraulics with civil/highway design
• Assist with client and stakeholder coordination
