You'll partner with frontier startups to optimize their AI workflows and turn learnings into improvements across OpenAI's research and products. Your core impact is shaping how advanced AI systems improve in practice through hands-on technical depth and product judgment. This role combines customer reality with model quality to drive durable enhancements.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Work directly with strategic startup customers to uncover failure modes
• Prototype and iterate on prompts, agents, and workflow designs
• Synthesize feedback to Product and Research as reproducible evals
• Build repeatable tools and evaluation approaches

📋 Requirements

• Strong software engineering and AI fundamentals
• Experience shipping production systems end-to-end
• Familiarity with model training pipelines and reinforcement learning
• Experience building AI applications, agents, or evaluation systems

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience as an ML engineer or data scientist
• Comfort working directly with highly technical users
• Strong product sense and bias toward durable improvements
