💼 About This Role

You'll define and own Astra's platform layer — APIs, developer experience, control plane, and foundational infrastructure — as a principal-level IC. Your work directly shapes how customers build on and scale with the Payments Cloud, balancing architectural investments with customer-facing features. You'll drive the platform strategy from a profitable Series A position with genuine ambition to be category-defining infrastructure.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Define API contract philosophy — versioning, backward compatibility, and deprecation policies
• Write detailed platform specs for engineering to ship
• Own the platform roadmap balancing foundational investments and customer features
• Conduct technical discovery with sophisticated customers to identify platform gaps
• Partner with engineering to review API design and maintain ergonomics standards

📋 Requirements

• 6+ years of product management experience
• 3+ years building developer-facing platform or API products
• Deep expertise in API design (REST, webhooks, event-driven)
• Experience owning platform roadmap across authentication, configuration, extensibility, and observability

• Payments infrastructure, BaaS, or developer tools experience
• Control plane / data plane architecture pattern knowledge
• Workflow or rules-engine product design background
