Description

You will own and build the risk infrastructure for Breeze's payments platform, designing and scaling fraud detection systems across a diverse portfolio of merchants. You'll integrate tools like Sift and Sardine, optimize approval rates, and collaborate cross-functionally to shape risk as a core product function at a fast-growing fintech startup.

Requirements

• 6+ years of fraud/risk engineering in fintech or payments
• Experience integrating fraud detection platforms (Sift, Sardine, Forter, etc.)
• Experience with multi-merchant or marketplace fraud systems
• Strong understanding of payments infrastructure, transaction flows, and fraud vectors
• Ability to own systems end-to-end from design through production

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve fraud risk engine integrating Sift and Sardine
• Design scalable rules architecture with merchant-specific overrides and velocity checks
• Continuously tune thresholds across merchant segments to optimize approval rates and minimize fraud
• Build feedback loops between manual review decisions, chargeback data, and model retraining
• Lead onboarding of new merchants into risk stack, solving cold-start challenges
