💼 About This Role

You'll join the Managed Databases Team at DigitalOcean to build and run the services for the DBaaS product. You'll provide technical leadership to scale the database platform for a growing customer base. This role offers the chance to work on customer-facing database products and mentor other engineers.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Develop customer-facing Managed Database products like MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Kafka
• Act as a subject matter expert on MySQL performance and administration
• Build and maintain distributed systems in a Kubernetes environment
• Design APIs with Go and mentor engineers on best practices

📋 Requirements

• 6+ years in agile product development
• 4+ years as a subject-matter expert with MySQL databases
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker
• Experience building and maintaining large distributed systems

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with resilience engineering and fault tolerance
• Exposure to both SQL and NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with Go concurrency patterns
