💼 About This Role

You'll build and lead a growing data science team in Bengaluru, driving risk modeling and verification analytics for Stripe. Your work will directly shape Stripe's ability to serve users safely and expand into new markets. This is a rare 0→1 leadership role with a dual mandate: team management and regional data craft leadership.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Build, manage, and develop a high-performing geographically distributed data team.
• Define and drive the data roadmap with product, engineering, and business stakeholders.
• Establish analytical rigor, experimentation frameworks, and data science best practices.
• Recruit and retain exceptional data talent with a compelling hiring narrative.

📋 Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in data science or analytics.
• 3+ years in a people management role leading data scientists or analysts.
• Strong technical foundation in SQL, Python/R, statistical modeling, and experimentation.
• Demonstrated ability to translate ambiguous business problems into analytical frameworks.

✨ Nice to Have

• Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline (M.S. or Ph.D.).
• Experience in payments, fintech, or financial services.
• Prior experience building and scaling data teams from the ground up.
