Description

You will develop and optimize low-density alumina-silica refractory insulators for the Starship spacecraft, working on designing, testing, and analyzing materials to enable spacecraft reusability. You'll collaborate with design and production engineers to improve production processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's in materials science, mechanical engineering, or related engineering discipline
• 1+ years experience in high-temperature ceramic or technical glass
• Ability to pass Space Force background check
• Willingness to work outdoors and travel occasionally
• Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee per ITAR

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute experiments on developmental components
• Design thermal protection hardware for heatshield optimization
• Operate ceramic and chemical lab tools and equipment
• Collaborate with process engineers on scalable production solutions
• Manage and track multiple priorities for common project goals
