Description
As a Cataloguer for Chinese Works of Art at Sotheby's, you will research, catalogue, and coordinate sales while providing expert support to the department. You'll contribute to maintaining Sotheby's reputation for excellence in the art world.
Requirements
- Degree in History of Art with knowledge of Chinese Works of Art
- First class research skills and fluent in Chinese language
- Attention to detail and methodical approach
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of another European language, preferably German, advantageous
Responsibilities
- Cataloguing and researching items for CWOA sales to highest standard
- Writing scholarly catalogue entries and condition reports
- Assisting with paste-ups, layouts, and producing proposals for new business
- Handling client enquiries and providing administrative support to specialists
- Maintaining departmental archives and library
