💼 About This Role

You'll advance the design and development of next-generation diagnostic instrumentation for fusion energy. You'll transform early-stage concepts into robust mechanical systems that enable groundbreaking plasma diagnostics. This onsite role in Everett, WA contributes to the mission of building the world's first fusion power plant.

🎯 What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop novel mechanical solutions for experimental diagnostics.
  • Own mechanical design of diagnostic systems, define requirements, and troubleshoot hardware.
  • Design, prototype, and iterate components using CAD and perform structural/thermal analysis.
  • Conduct experimental testing, analyze performance data, and support root-cause analysis.

📋 Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering with experience in plasma, laser, aero, or similar specialty.
  • 5+ years hands-on industry experience with diagnostic equipment or laboratory instrumentation.
  • 5+ years experience with CAD software (e.g., NX, SolidWorks) and FEA software (e.g., ANSYS, FEMAP).
  • Experience applying engineering first-principles to first-of-a-kind designs.
