💼 About This Role

You'll own the architecture and reliability of communication networks for Helion's fusion power plant. You'll design and validate networking solutions that support deterministic control and fault-tolerant operation across thousands of devices. This is a hands-on role where you'll configure switches and rigorously test performance.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Own design, configuration, and operation of plant-wide networking infrastructure
• Define and maintain networking requirements for bandwidth, latency, and redundancy
• Test and validate networking technologies including Ethernet, EtherCAT, and PTP/NTP
• Collaborate with security and hardware teams to harden and integrate networks

📋 Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in Linux-based systems administration and networking
• Deep understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, and switch configuration
• Hands-on experience with time synchronization protocols (PTP, NTP)
• Experience with Industrial Ethernet protocols (EtherCAT strongly preferred)

✨ Nice to Have

• Knowledge of fault-tolerance and redundancy in industrial networks
• Familiarity with configuring managed switches and industrial networking devices
• Ability to debug network performance under load
