💼 About This Role

You'll build and enhance the backend platform for BuildOps, an AI-native platform powering commercial specialty contractors. You'll own projects end to end, design scalable services and APIs, and use AI tools to accelerate development. You'll mentor engineers and shape technical direction while solving real-world problems for contractors who keep buildings running.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Build and maintain backend services and APIs (GraphQL and REST) using Node.js and TypeScript
• Design and evolve event-driven systems for core workflows
• Drive full SDLC: requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, maintenance
• Improve observability with metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting
• Mentor engineers and lead technical design reviews

📋 Requirements

• 5+ years professional backend or full‑stack development with 1-2+ years senior/lead on large-scale apps
• Strong experience building distributed web applications and backend services
• Deep hands-on Node.js (preferably with TypeScript) in production
• Experience designing GraphQL (Apollo) and/or REST APIs and solid database modeling

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field
• Experience with event-driven architectures, cloud platforms (GCP/AWS), Docker/Kubernetes, or Python
