💼 About This Role
You'll drive new business acquisition in the Houston Local/Education market as part of Verkada's Public Sector Field Sales team. Your core impact will be developing a territory strategy and executing the full sales cycle to acquire net new customers. This role stands out for its focus on greenfield territory development and channel partner collaboration.
🎯 What You'll Do
- Develop and implement a comprehensive territory plan
- Manage entire sales process from prospecting to closing net new business
- Initiate and manage expansion discussions to drive customer retention
- Drive business growth through customer engagements and channel partner initiatives
📋 Requirements
- 5-10+ years of quota-carrying technology sales with greenfield focus
- Proven track record of closing new logos and landing major accounts
- Customer relationships within Local/Education accounts including government and higher education
- Experience managing longer complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders
✨ Nice to Have
- 2+ years selling to Public Sector (Local Government, Education)
- Experience with MEDDIC methodology
- Relevant software/hardware industry experience in security, networking, or SaaS
