💼 About This Role

You'll own the AI science strategy and execution at Oumi, leading a team of ML engineers and applied researchers. You'll drive the full model development lifecycle—from data strategy and training to evaluation and production deployment. You'll blend research and product shipping, translating breakthroughs into production systems that Oumi and customers use every day.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Define and drive the AI science research and engineering roadmap.
• Recruit, manage, and develop a high-performing team of ML engineers and researchers.
• Lead experimentation across pre-training, fine-tuning, alignment, and data mixing.
• Design evaluation frameworks and automated feedback loops for continuous improvement.

📋 Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in ML research or ML engineering.
• 1+ years of experience managing engineers or applied researchers.
• Expertise across the model training lifecycle (pre-training, fine-tuning, alignment, deployment).
• Hands-on experience training or substantially improving LLMs or VLMs.

✨ Nice to Have

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field.
• Publications in top ML/AI venues (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL).
• Experience with data-centric ML approaches or open-source ML contributions.
