Austin, TX
full-timemidrobotics
Tech Stack
Description
You will own the Design-to-Simulation loop for next-generation dexterous hands, bridging Mechanical Design and Control. You'll build high-fidelity simulation scenes and teleoperation pipelines to validate human-like dexterity before machining, directly impacting hardware design through iterative validation in a digital twin.
Requirements
- MS or PhD in Robotics, CS, Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 2+ years experience with robotic simulation (Isaac Sim or MuJoCo)
- Strong understanding of USD file format (composition arcs, layers, stages)
- Strong Python skills; C++ is a plus
- Solid understanding of kinematics, rigid body dynamics, collision geometry, and spatial math
Responsibilities
- Champion Design-to-Sim workflow: develop tooling to convert CAD to USD assets optimized for Isaac Sim
- Design and implement evaluation environments in Isaac Lab for dexterity benchmarks
- Implement and maintain teleoperation retargeting interface between human input devices and simulated hand
- Create automated workspace kinematic analysis tools via Python scripting in Isaac Sim
- Partner with hardware team to measure and reduce sim-to-real gap through grasping stability comparisons
