Description

You'll design, build, and operate backend services for MongoDB's Cloud Payments team, processing large volumes of usage and billing data. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve customer billing experiences and scale critical systems. Own features end-to-end in a fully remote, Canada-based role.

Requirements

• 3+ years building backend systems in a compiled language, ideally Java
• Understanding of object-oriented design principles
• Experience with distributed systems and high availability
• Comfortable with databases (relational or non-relational) in production
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate backend services for billing data ingestion and reconciliation
• Collaborate with product, Finance, and engineering teams to evolve billing capabilities
• Own features end-to-end from requirements to monitoring
• Participate in architecture discussions and code reviews
• Contribute to tooling, observability, and development workflows
