Description

You will architect and scale core observability systems including logging, metrics, and tracing pipelines. You'll lead the integration of new technologies like OpenTelemetry and ClickHouse, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed observability throughout the development lifecycle. Your work will directly impact the reliability and performance of Airtable's platform for millions of users.

Requirements

• 6+ years software engineering, 3+ in observability or infrastructure at scale
• Experience with logging, metrics, or tracing systems in production
• Proficiency in distributed systems, data streaming, and Kubernetes
• Hands-on with Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, OpenTelemetry, ELK, Loki, or ClickHouse
• Proficiency in Go, Python, or Java

Responsibilities

• Architect and scale logging, metrics, and tracing pipelines
• Evaluate and integrate new observability technologies (e.g., OpenTelemetry, ClickHouse, ELK)
• Guide and mentor infrastructure engineers
• Partner with Deploy Infrastructure, Service Orchestration, and Product teams
• Extend observability to LLM and AI features via instrumentation and dashboards
