Description

You will design, prototype, and test mechanical components and systems for current and next-generation scientific instruments. You will collaborate with research, product, and operations teams to translate requirements into technical specifications, and take ownership of 3D designs, drawings, and validation activities through the full product lifecycle.

Requirements

• MEng in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
• Expert use of SolidWorks CAD, tolerance analysis, and thermal design
• Experience in mechanical design of systems involving optics, detectors, and electronics
• Experience developing scientific instrumentation
• Full cycle product development and transfer to manufacturing (desirable)

Responsibilities

• Mechanical design engineering of key modules from concept to customer delivery
• Work with product, research and operations teams to gather and translate requirements
• Produce detailed 3D models, design drawings, prototypes, and technical documentation
• Oversee testing, evaluation, and conformance of mechanical assemblies
• Support handover to production and address engineering change requests and non-conformances
