💼 About This Role

You'll lead and scale Somnia's platform engineering org, owning the reliability and infrastructure of a high-performance L1 blockchain and core protocols. Your first priority is formalizing reliability with SLOs and incident response, then building a self-serve internal developer platform. This is a senior leadership role with real scope to shape the team and technology.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Lead Engineering Managers, Tech Leads, and Staff/Principal engineers across time zones.
• Define SLOs and mature incident response into a proactive SRE function.
• Design and ship internal developer platform tooling for CI/CD, environments, and observability.
• Own cloud spend and headcount planning, reporting to CTO.

📋 Requirements

• 8+ years leading engineering teams, with at least 3 years at director level overseeing 25+ engineers.
• Deep SRE and reliability experience building SLO frameworks and incident response programs.
• Distributed systems fluency with high-performance, low-latency systems at scale.
• Operational ownership managing engineering budgets, headcount, and vendor relationships.

✨ Nice to Have

• Web3/blockchain domain experience with L1 infrastructure or EVM.
• AI/ML infrastructure experience deploying and scaling inference workloads.
• True multi-cloud experience across different providers.
