💼 About This Role

You'll design and build a new suite of payment products from the ground up as part of Boku's Innovation department. You'll work in a small, high-autonomy team delivering high-throughput, fault-tolerant services. This greenfield engagement focuses on building production-grade Java/Spring Boot services with no legacy code to maintain.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Design and build production-grade Java/Spring Boot services for high throughput and low latency.
• Implement RESTful/gRPC/event-driven APIs for payment initiation and reconciliation.
• Optimize service performance through profiling, load testing, and data access layer tuning.
• Contribute React-based frontend components for internal tooling and dashboards.

📋 Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience building high-throughput distributed payment or financial services systems.
• Strong understanding of idempotency, exactly-once delivery, and reconciliation flows.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ).

• React frontend development experience for internal tooling.
• Experience with Bloomberg data feeds or real-time FX data sources.
• Background in FX processing, treasury systems, or multi-currency settlement.
