💼 About This Role

You'll lead efforts to scope measurements and instrumentation for the ARC fusion power plant. Your work will determine the minimum necessary diagnostics for plant control and drive R&D for novel techniques. You'll coordinate with plasma control, physics, and engineering teams in a fast-paced fusion startup.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Refine the measurement set for ARC tokamak with plasma control and physics teams.
• Evaluate diagnostic techniques robust to thermal and radiological environments.
• Scope R&D projects for needed instrumentation technologies.
• Develop concepts, layouts, and requirements for plasma instrumentation.

📋 Requirements

• PhD in experimental plasma physics or related field.
• 5+ years experience in plasma physics or fusion research.
• Experience designing, building, and operating plasma instrumentation.
• Experience working on multi-disciplinary engineering projects.

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with Python.

🚩 Heads Up

• Must-have requirements include industrial hazards (heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead, high voltage, high current, pressure systems, cryogenics).
• Willingness to travel or work nights/weekends/on-call regularly.
