💼 About This Role

You'll lead the technical roadmap for personalization, ranking, and GenAI/LLM systems at a leading edtech platform serving tens of millions of learners. You'll architect end-to-end ML systems and mentor senior engineers to multiply impact across the org.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Own technical roadmap for applied AI across personalization, ranking, search, and GenAI/LLM systems
• Design end-to-end ML systems including candidate sourcing, embedding platforms, and multi-stage ranking
• Lead LLM-based features: RAG pipelines, fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and inference strategies
• Institutionalize evaluation with offline and online metrics for ranking and generative systems

📋 Requirements

• 10+ years in applied ML/AI with staff-level impact leading cross-functional efforts end-to-end
• Proven record shipping large-scale ranking/personalization or search systems improving online metrics
• Hands-on with LLM/GenAI systems including fine-tuning, prompt engineering, evaluation, and productionization
• Deep fluency in Python/PyTorch, distributed training/inference, and modern MLOps

✨ Nice to Have

• EdTech or consumer mobile experience; conversational tutoring or learning science-informed modeling
• Publications or open-source contributions in RecSys/LLMs (e.g., RecSys, KDD, NeurIPS, ICLR, ACL)
• Experience building on a modern MLOps stack including feature management, orchestration, streaming
