💼 About This Role

You'll monitor remedial excavation at a former oil and gas processing facility, ensuring cultural resources are protected. You'll work alongside senior archaeologists and tribal monitors in a team-oriented environment. This role offers valuable field experience in cultural resource management.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Conduct daily archaeological construction monitoring
• Prepare daily monitoring logs and reports
• Recognize discoveries and initiate notification procedures
• Coordinate on-site tribal monitors daily

📋 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Archaeology, Anthropology or related field
• 2+ years experience conducting archaeological monitoring
• Good familiarity with Santa Barbara County cultural assemblage
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate GPS units

• 40-hour HAZWOPER training
• Experience with identification of human remains
