You'll provide technical leadership and architectural vision for Waymo's core data platforms that power insights and decision-making for autonomous driving. Your work will directly impact the safety and scalability of the Waymo Driver through data validation and standardization. You'll shape the future of mobility by tackling challenging data systems problems at the intersection of commercialization and driver evaluation.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Lead architectural design for core data platforms including data lake and metrics standardization.
• Establish data governance frameworks for discoverability, lineage, and quality.
• Identify inefficiencies in data development lifecycle and drive productivity improvements.
• Align with Simulation, Onboard, ML, and Commercialization teams on data architecture.

📋 Requirements

• Proven track record as a technical lead delivering multi-quarter data projects across organizations.
• Excellent communication to articulate complex technical strategies to diverse stakeholders.
• Extensive experience architecting large-scale distributed data systems (data lakes, lakehouse, streaming).
• Deep expertise in data governance principles (metadata, lineage, quality) at scale.
• Strong experience designing data APIs, schemas, and data contracts for interoperability.

• Familiarity with autonomous vehicle operations, logistics, or ride-hailing data.
• Experience with Google's data infrastructure (F1 Query, Napa, Flume) or GCP services (BigQuery, Dataflow).
