Description

You will provide legal guidance on novel issues in the TV streaming industry, supporting Roku's products and services from design through launch. You'll collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to manage legal risk while advancing business goals and protecting users globally.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney
• Significant in-house experience advising on data privacy and product development in technology
• Strong working knowledge of global privacy and data security laws
• Familiarity with content and digital product distribution agreements (MVPD, DMVPD, app development)
• Ability to translate legal requirements into actionable advice for Product and Engineering teams

Responsibilities

• Advise Product and Engineering on legal risk management for consumer electronics and streaming platform
• Provide guidance on privacy, data security, consumer protection, and advertising laws
• Review user flows, product features, advertising collateral, and user-facing communications for compliance
• Collaborate cross-functionally with business units including UX, devices, mobile, web, ad product, and marketing
• Develop scalable processes for legal review of new product launches
