Description

You will be a core contributor to a cloud-native Node.js/TypeScript full-stack application for Firefox Monitor, building tools to help people understand and respond to data breaches. You'll own backend systems, cloud infrastructure, and integrations with breach intelligence providers, while collaborating with frontend, SRE, and product teams.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a senior backend engineer with Node.js and TypeScript
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS) and container orchestration (GKE)
• Strong PostgreSQL skills and familiarity with Knex or similar query builders
• Experience with event-driven systems and message queuing (Pub/Sub)
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and participate in code reviews

Responsibilities

• Lead backend development in Node.js and TypeScript using Next.js full-stack architecture
• Design and maintain integrations with external data sources (e.g., HIBP) with focus on data privacy and security
• Build and maintain event-driven systems using Google Cloud Pub/Sub, and own GCP (GKE) and AWS (S3, SES) infrastructure
• Own data layer with PostgreSQL schema design and Redis caching strategies
• Participate in on-call rotation (Base Load Engineer role) for releases, dependency updates, and production issue triage
