Description

You will lead the design and evolution of large-scale distributed systems at Nu, influencing technical decisions and collaborating with product, design, and engineering leaders to build resilient, secure financial products.

Requirements

• Experience with large-scale distributed systems
• Proficiency in functional programming (Clojure preferred, willingness to learn)
• Strong understanding of system architecture and trade-offs
• Experience with Kafka, AWS, Kubernetes, and monitoring tools like Prometheus
• Collaboration and mentoring skills

Responsibilities

• Lead technical direction for your team and partner with adjacent teams on architecture
• Design and build horizontally scalable microservices in Clojure
• Mentor engineers and maintain high technical bar
• Ensure comprehensive observability, monitoring, and error handling
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response
