Description

As a Mechanical Design Engineer on the Propulsion Components team, you will develop advanced flow control devices and mechanisms for Starship and Super Heavy systems. You'll own the relationship between vehicle hardware and manufacturing teams, drive component deliveries, and ensure flight readiness for humanity's path to Mars.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in physics or engineering
• 1+ years mechanical design/manufacturing experience (internships qualify)
• Experience designing and analyzing mechanical systems
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
• Hands-on experience with fluid, gas, or high voltage systems preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop manufacturable flow control devices and mechanisms for Starship and Super Heavy
• Simplify/optimize, accelerate, and automate component deliveries
• Generate detailed drawings, specifications, analyses, and risk assessments
• Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions
• Act as chief engineer to inform system-level architecture and minimize cost to orbit
