Description

You will self-perform and direct project teams in the planning and design of transportation structures projects, serving as a subject matter expert and providing technical advice to drive the growth of the NC Structural group. You will mentor staff, manage technical elements, and ensure high-quality engineering documents.

Requirements

• B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering (Structural).
• PE License in NC required.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in structural engineering with a transportation focus.
• Advanced knowledge of software appropriate for discipline (proficiency in most programs specific to role).
• Advanced knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
• Experience in MicroStation required.
• Experience in 3D bridge modeling highly desirable.
• Experience with Construction Engineering services highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and direct the advancement of technical skills of staff while executing projects.
• Manage technical elements of a project, including assessing analyses and practical approaches.
• Perform, review, and manage technical analysis and design; take responsibility for completeness of design details.
• Communicate technical progress and issues to Project Manager promptly.
• Adhere to internal procedures for quality control, documentation, and project tracking.
• Contribute as a technical specialist or advisor to other project work.
• Provide input into the growth of the practice.
• Work toward being a leading subject matter expert on targeted elements.
