You'll be a technical leader in computational road user behavior modeling for autonomous driving safety. You'll develop metrics and models to evaluate and improve the safety of Waymo's fully autonomous technology. This role offers the opportunity to publish research and collaborate with top academic partners.

  • Lead research on computational road user behavior modeling
  • Develop metrics and models for safety evaluation
  • Productionize behavioral metrics in simulation infrastructure
  • Publish findings in scientific journals and conferences

๐Ÿ“‹ Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in computational/mathematical modeling and cognitive/behavioral science
  • At least 5 years of experience in computational modeling of human/animal cognition and behavior
  • Strong coding and mathematical skills
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills

  • Experience in active inference-based modeling
  • Experience in modern AI-based modeling (world models, learning paradigms)
  • Experience in traffic safety research
