Description

You will design, build, and operate Stripe's stream compute infrastructure powered by Apache Flink, ensuring high availability and reliability at global scale. You'll partner with product and platform teams to unblock Flink adoption, drive operational best practices, and lead initiatives that raise the bar on state durability and resilience.

Requirements

• 10+ years building, operating, and evolving large-scale production systems
• Experience as a technical lead on distributed systems in fast-moving environments
• Hands-on experience with big data technologies (Flink, Spark, Kafka, Pulsar, or Pinot)
• Experience building and scaling infrastructure as a product
• Strong software engineering skills in Go, Java, Scala, or similar

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate stream compute infrastructure with Apache Flink, Kafka, Temporal, and AWS
• Partner with product and platform teams to understand requirements and improve stream processing infrastructure
• Define and implement operational best practices (shuffle sharding, cellular architecture, load shedding, automated state recovery)
• Drive fleet-level automation and standardization through self-service workflows and self-healing systems
• Lead initiatives on Flink availability and state durability (multi-region strategies, disaster recovery, operational readiness)
