Description

You will champion payload design efforts for Earth-imaging satellites, focusing on opto-mechanical design and manufacturing. You'll own the manufacturing process of optical payloads for next-generation satellites and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure performance and reliability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
• 4+ years experience owning development of opto-mechanical products from concept to manufacturing
• Experience designing for high-reliability space environments including launch survivability and STOP analysis
• Experience in design and fabrication of optical assemblies with various materials
• Practical engagement with hardware from prototyping to production and testing

Responsibilities

• Own opto-mechanical manufacturing process of optical payloads for next-generation satellites
• Design manufacturing line for mid-volume production of optical payloads
• Make data-driven decisions to ensure efficient assembly and test processes
• Collaborate with structural, thermal, and optical engineers to ensure payloads meet requirements
• Lead technical presentations and reviews across design review gates
