💼 About This Role

You'll support assembly and testing of SPARC components, performing high-stakes vacuum and pressure testing. You'll work alongside a Lead Mechanical Tech to execute helium leak detection and pneumatic pressure proofing. This contract role is at a leading fusion energy company.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Perform helium leak detection using tracer probe and hood techniques
• Execute pneumatic pressure proofing protocols per safety standards
• Set up and operate turbomolecular pumps and mass spectrometer leak detectors
• Install and handle KF, CF, VCR, compression fittings, and NPT connections

📋 Requirements

• 3+ years in a lead or senior technical role in complex mechanical assembly
• Minimum 40 hours formal classroom training in NDT/Leak Testing
• ASNT Level II in Leak Testing (LT) certification or eligibility
• Experience troubleshooting vacuum system integrity and leak detection

✨ Nice to Have

• Familiarity with fusion-relevant or high-vacuum hardware
• Experience working around high-hazard environments
